Come and enjoy three fabulous days of festivity in Copenhagen’s Fælledparken and around the metropolitan area, with countless FREE concerts featuring live music bands and dance genres from all over the world.
Experience fabulously decorated costumes and feather headgear, Samba rhythms, and lots of colourful acts from both home and abroad, when the giant Copenhagen Carnival parade make its way through the streets of the city centre starting at Kongens Nytorv Saturday from 11AM hrs, and culminating at the City Hall Square.
Copenhagen Carnival has been a major cultural event in the capital's tradition since 1982. This year the carnival is bigger than ever before with 8 multiple stages with performing bands and artists of very different origins. The Copenhagen Carnival offers a great club scene with international names, samba, capoeira, Colombian dancing, and lots more of world culture. The success of last year's Electronic Carnival is repeated as well as the dance dome with a series of Denmark's best DJ's.
Sunday’s traditional evening parade in Fælledparken rounds off the Copenhagen Carnival with yet another magnificent show of fervent samba rhythms and gleaming costumes.
Children's CarnivalFor the younger generation, the Children's Carnival offers two children scenes with concerts during the daytime. Many activities are specially aimed at children and their families, including treasure hunts, face painting and rhythmic dancing workshops where the kids can learn how to dance worldly dances such as salsa and samba. If you need a rest, you can relax in the family area, where the kids can play, and you can buy food and drinks from the many carnival's bars and stands. So mark your calendar and join us at Copenhagen Carnival 2009!
